No one ever wants to have to file a claim on their insurance BUT IF YOU EVER DO, you want to have an insurance company that treats you like family, not a claim #. Unfortunately, we were flooded with TS Imelda. Our home got 18in -24in and my car got 3-4in. I lost my car and had to relocate all in one day. At 4am, our home started taking on significant water....we knew we had to go ahead and start preparing for worst case scenarios. At about 5:30am, my husband text our insurance agent (Buffy Doiron Hooper) and she immediately started sending us links to make our claim. From that very moment to now, this process has been pretty smooth sailing. Our adjuster was out to look at our home and my car THREE DAYS AFTER THE STORM HIT. My car was considered totaled on day 5 and was paid off of day 9. We received our insurance check on our home about 2 1/2 weeks after the claim was filed.

I know that alot of people have not had it as smooth/easy as my husband and I did and I know that we are truly blessed. Had it not been for our agent lining things up for us at 5am and giving us the guidance we needed throughout this process, we would not be well on our way to completing our home.
